Joint Offshore Race Committee Chairman:
____________________________ The Castaways and Palm Beach Sailing Clubs sponsored a series of races during the Summer of 2008. The first series draws to a close with a total of 39 boats crossing the start lines for the competing clubs, with 25 starts for the Castaways and 14 for Palm Beach Sailing Club. This is an excellent way to gain sailing and racing experience. The races are friendly, most of the boats find the marks, and the slower boats enjoy the day just as much as the faster boats. If you are interested in more racing information, please contact Gordon Rowse, Castaways Race Chairman at (561) 844-9161 or Brian Beaver, PBSC Race Chairman at (561) 844-3178. Gordon and Brian can also help you find a crew slot on one of the races if you want to learn or enjoy a day on the water. The club points for Series 1 as of July 22 are based on the number of boats representing each club that cross the starting line and are as follows: SERIES I CLUB POINTS
The club point scoring is designed to encourage less experienced boats to come out and represent their club! We especially encourage multi-hull boats to join the fun. We had two multihulls competing on July 20 and need three to have a multihull class. The upcoming Offshore Racing schedule is available by clicking on the Race Calendar. On May 18, 2008 two races were conducted. Here are the results: Series 1 Race 1 5/18 /2008Start Time
